Baker Newman Noyes Announces Eight Senior Promotions in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire
BOSTON and WOBURN, Mass., MANCHESTER and PORTSMOUTH, N.H. and PORTLAND, Maine – Baker Newman Noyes (BNN), one of the nation’s top 100 accounting and advisory firms, today announced eight senior-level promotions in its Boston, Manchester, Portland, and Woburn offices, effective July 1.
Boston, Mass.
- Sophie Wang, CPA, was promoted to manager in the assurance practice. Wang earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Minnesota and her master’s degree in accounting from Boston College. She joined the firm in 2015. Wang focuses on serving clients in the banking and financial services industries as well as employee benefit plans.
Woburn, Mass.
- Jiten Kariya, CA, was promoted to manager in the tax practice. He is a Chartered Accountant specializing in international tax and transaction tax services. Kariya has been with the firm since 2019.
Manchester, N.H.
- Jennifer Fontaine, MBA, was promoted to office admin manager in the operations department. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a minor in international business, and a master’s degree in business from Husson University. Fontaine manages all five of BNN’s offices across three states. She is a notary public in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and volunteers with the New England Epilepsy Foundation and the Green Acres School in Manchester.
- Marissa Mamet, CPA, was promoted to manager in the tax practice. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, from the University of Massachusetts. Mamet specializes in serving the real estate and professional services industries and serves as an ambassador for the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce.
Portland, Maine
- Joseph Begin, CPA, of South Portland, Maine, was promoted to manager in the tax practice. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Maine, and a master’s degree in accounting from Saint Joseph’s College. Begin joined the firm in 2014. He provides tax planning and compliance services primarily for individuals and closely-held businesses, including S-Corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
- Matthew Fernandez, CPA, of Kennebunk, Maine, was promoted to senior manager in the assurance practice. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Southern Maine. Fernandez specializes in serving financial institutions and employee benefit plans. He has been with the firm since 2009.
- Jaclyn Soderlind, CPA, of Kennebunk, Maine, was promoted to senior manager in the tax practice. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in taxation from Bentley University. Soderlind serves high-net-worth individuals and closely-held and family-owned businesses. Prior to joining BNN, Jaclyn was with a Big 4 firm in Boston as a member of the mutual and hedge fund tax department.
- Justin St. John, CPA, of Harrison, Maine, was promoted to manager in the assurance practice. He earned bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Maine. St. John joined the firm in 2015. He provides assurance services to healthcare organizations, nonprofit organizations, commercial businesses, and employee benefit plans.
