Scott McKenzie Named Managing Director at Baker Newman Noyes

Accomplished audit, tax, and advisory expert will lead and expand Transaction Advisory Services practice serving the Boston market

Baker Newman Noyes (BNN) today announced that Scott McKenzie, CPA has joined the firm and will lead its Transaction Advisory Services practice as a Managing Director serving the Boston, Mass. market. In this role, Scott will be based in BNN’s Woburn, Mass. office and will oversee day-to-day operations and devise long-term strategy for the practice, building upon the existing strength of the team while pursuing additional growth and business development opportunities.

With more than two decades of experience in leadership roles at large accounting firms in Massachusetts, McKenzie calls upon his deep knowledge of audit, attestation, tax, and operational guidance issues to find solutions for an array of clients. He has advised several prominent venture-backed, emerging growth companies as well as sophisticated public and privately held companies in the software, life sciences, construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

McKenzie has spearheaded merger and acquisition support services and financial due diligence assignments involving companies across the United States and Canada. He also offers specialized guidance around complex financial issues that may arise during transactions. McKenzie’s expertise includes software revenue recognition, complex equity and revenue arrangements, purchase accounting, and post-merger integration.

McKenzie speaks regularly to entrepreneurs and innovators at Venture Café Cambridge and currently serves as a teacher and mentor for EforAll, an innovative nonprofit that partners with communities to help underrepresented individuals start their own businesses. He previously served as the vice president of the Board of Trustees and audit committee chair of Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, Mass., and as president of the Beverly Little League Board of Directors.

McKenzie earned his Bachelor of Arts in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Gordon College. He resides in Beverly, Mass. with his wife and three children.
