
Darren originally started at Baker Newman Noyes as an Audit Staff when the firm was founded. He had been with one of BNN’s predecessor firms since 1993. From 2000 to 2017, Darren served as the Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and, lastly, Chief Executive Officer for a Maine-based financial services company. In 2018, he found his way back to BNN.
Darren currently serves as President and Chief Financial Officer. He stepped into the President role in 2024 when the firm reorganized their leadership structure to best serve the firm as it continues to achieve its growth goals. As President, Darren is responsible for day-to-day business and leadership of the firm and reports to the Board of Directors to contribute to BNN’s long-term vision and strategy. His leadership approach prioritizes in-person connections and open communication with employees, principals, and owners. Additionally, he maintains his CFO responsibilities of financial management and reporting for the firm. Darren guides the firm’s financial strategy through a business-focused, operational approach, with particular focus in financial reporting and analysis, forecasting and budgeting, regulatory compliance, financing structures, risk management, and process improvement.
Darren earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting, cum laude, from James Madison University.
