Josh is a principal in the firm’s tax practice, specializing in tax advisory services for businesses, including mergers and acquisitions, tax structuring, and due diligence. He also provides tax consulting, planning, and compliance services for businesses and their ownership groups. Josh works primarily with commercial businesses, including the real estate and construction, hospitality, manufacturing and distribution, and retail industries. He has spent his career serving a wide range of clients—U.S. and international operations, passive and active ownerships, and multi-generational family business and partnership structures.
Clients turn to Josh for his unique and varied experience with complex tax situations and business structures. He works closely with them to achieve overall tax goals and objectives for the business – at any stage – and the owners, offering a technical and practical approach. He is well-versed with overall tax planning, transaction assistance, and tax efficiency and minimization strategies, including entity choice and structure, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and dispositions (complete and partial). He works with all business structures including S Corporations, C Corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.
Josh is a leading member of the firm’s task force for the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which includes writing articles, training and presenting internally and externally on the new 20% qualified business income deduction, the vastly expanded business interest expense limitation and other ongoing tax reform topics.
Josh earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in business administration from Husson University.
