Scott is a principal at Baker Newman Noyes, and leads the firm’s transaction advisory services practice. Scott brings more than 20 years of experience in public accounting to his role at BNN. A seasoned audit professional, Scott works closely with private equity and venture-backed, emerging growth, and sophisticated public and privately held companies in the software, life sciences, construction, manufacturing and distribution industries.
Clients turn to Scott for help in transaction support services and financial due diligence. He has unique knowledge and experience in buy-side and sell-side advisory for complex financial issues that may arise during a transaction. Scott has led due diligence assignments involving target companies across the U.S. and Canada. His experience also include software revenue recognition, complex equity and revenue recognition, and stock compensation.
To supplement his assurance and transaction experience, Scott also has tax experience preparing and reviewing C Corporation, S Corporation, partnership, and individual tax returns. His breadth and depth of knowledge, proactive communication, and creative approach to solving problems make him a trusted advisor for his clients. Scott also shares his knowledge and expertise with entrepreneurs and startups as a mentor, judge, and teacher for the EforAll Program and a mentor and teacher with Venture Café.
Prior to joining the firm, Scott served as an assurance partner at a Massachusetts-based public accounting firm and a Massachusetts-based financial advisory firm. He has also worked at a Big 4 firm in Massachusetts.
Scott earned bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Gordon College.
